ELECTRONIC SOLDERING AND INSPECTION CERTIFICATION

LIFT is the only Long Island firm that can provide your employees with IPC Certified training to become Certified IPC Specialists (CIS) to the J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 standards in all three product classes.

J-STD-001 – This is a comprehensive, knowledge-based series of courses that certify students to the methods and procedures presented in the J-STD-001 document. Designed for experienced operators, the series helps workers interpret the J-STD-001 specification through lecture, demonstration and labs. This course address all three classes of manufacturing in Wires and Terminals, Through-hole, and Surface Mount Technologies.

J-STD-001 Space Addendum – The J-STD-001 Space Electronics Hardware Addendum is an optional Module 6 to IPC's J-STD-001 Operator Training & Certification Program.  It provides additional requirements over those published in IPC J-STD-001E to ensure the reliability of soldered electrical and electronic assemblies that must survive the vibration and thermal cyclic environments experienced while traveling and operating in space.  This 1 day program consists of a lecture which will identify and review each section of the addendum, followed by an open book exam.  There are no workmanship requirements for this module.

IPC-A-610 - This lecture course utilizes the images in the IPC-A-610 document to provide visual accept/reject criteria examples for all three classes of assembly production-in both lead and lead-free. The IPC-A-610, "The Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies", is the most widely used inspection specification for the PWB assembly industry. This course is for anyone responsible for the quality and reliability of electronic assemblies. This includes engineers, quality supervisors, inspectors and manufacturing personnel responsible for quality assurance.

Program Benefits:
LIFT’s Training and Certification Programs offer those interested in company-wide quality assurance initiatives in an industry traceable, IPC certified program to support their commitment to continuous improvement of product quality and reliability. These training and certification courses have immediate recognition, legitimacy and value throughout the Electronics, Aviation, Aerospace, and Defense industries. The program provides individuals with a portable credential that represents their understanding of the IPC Standards and Practices.

LIFT is in the process of developing courses in Hand Soldering Operator Certification – Lead and Lead-Free, Interactive PCB Inspection, and Introduction to Lead Free Soldering.
